Storms in the Valley by Brock Whittaker Photography

I have gone this whole summer without a single good storm in the desert, and finally I got one.

I drove out on my own to the edges of Maricopa and took these photos near a farm field. I kind of liked the minimalism here. I didn’t get the sandstorm that I was hoping for, but I got some pretty cool virga formations!

Milky Way over the Mackinac Bridge! by Brock Whittaker Photography

Like I had said in the last post, I was in St. Ignace, MI about a mile from the bridge. We decided to head out so that I could get some photos of the Milky Way. It was absolutely spectacular.

It could not have landed over the bridge in a better way. There wasn’t a need to composite because all the conditions just worked absolutely perfect together.

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Mill Avenue by Brock Whittaker Photography

We went out to the city tonight to eat after my sister’s graduation. It was one of my first chances to really get to use the Rokinon 85/1.4 for personal use. I love the bokeh on this lens! It has nice rendering, and it is really quite sharp wide open.

It’s been a while since I have uploaded (about a month). It’s because my computer broke. After about three weeks I purchased the Dell Latitude E6230. It’s pretty awesome, and so much faster than my old computer. I stitched together 10 photos in 50 seconds; awesome!

Hope you guys have a great weekend! I’m out of school now, so photos should be more regular.
