At the Temple Pond of Bhoga Nandeeshwara, of which you may not have heard much.. by Anoop Negi

Most temples in South India and I guess elsewhere in India have a sacred water pond where ritual cleansing for the devotees or the priests or the deity itself would take place.

Some lying at higher elevations would be the alleged source of rivers and have some mythical tales of epic Hindu deities etc. figuring prominently in some fable or the other.

The "Shringi Theertha" – the temple pond is large and has steps on all four sides. The Bhoginandishwara temple is situated not too far from Bangalore and it was initially built in the 9th century AD.

This pond as per popular legend is supposed to be the source of the South Pennar river and was made when the divine bull Nandi plunged his horn into the earth here.

The day I was there, not too many seekers of divine bliss and fertility were to be found at the temple complex. In the pond area a mother from Andhra Pradesh was bathing her daughter in the holy water after getting her hair shaved off as a part of routine Hindu tradition.

Silence Speaks Volumes by ThroughTamsEyes

Week 17

I am so far behind… I nearly despair of catching up. LOL!

Hopefully (again), I will catch up over the next couple of weeks.

…instead of losing someone, losing the innocence of thinking you were important to begin with hurts more…

Captured this with four RAW shots. Used Photomerge in Photoshop CS6 to create this panorama. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Topaz DeNoise to reduce noise. Topaz Clarity for additional boost in color and contrast.

Vancouver British Columbia Skyline During Sunrise Panorama. Have been away for a few days to beautiful Vancouver BC. Weather was nice and got some great shots of the city. Joe McLaughlin came along for the ride. Also met up with Mikul Culver. Still the same awesome guy we met up with the last time we were up there. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

to life, with hope by brookeshaden

I shot this in Hana, Hawaii…one of the most wonderful, blissful places I have ever been. It was a like a dream there, and I visited this particular beach many times. I photographed my childhood friend Marsha at these cliffs with the dozen attendees of my artist retreat there. It was such a magical time. I loved each and every person who agreed to spend that time with me.
