Do you say yes when you say it ?

Had this amusing conversation with theCustomer Service (claimed) but DSA (most likely) of a large Indian bank.

Bank: We would like to offer you this insert_high_value_metal card since you have been selected by us.

Myself: Yep. I talked with the officer day before – send it over.

Bank: Do you want to avail this offer ?

Myself: Yep. Send the card over.

Bank: Do you want to accept this insert_high_value_metal card ?

Myself: Yep. Send the card over.

Bank: Sir, do you want to accept this insert_high_value_metal card ?

Myself: Yep. Send the card over. I did tell you this – correct ?

Bank: Sir, you have to say “Yes, I accept this insert_high_value_metal card”.

Myself: ehh ? What ? Come again …

Bank: Sir, you have to say “Yes, I accept this insert_high_value_metal card”.

Myself: Never mind then …

Last evening 🙂

Indiaplaza seems to be losing the mojo

Short being completely fed up with them, I’d say that I have had it with Indiaplaza. I use them to buy books and they have been randomly postponing shipping dates (for even those books that have “3 day delivery” blurb) with a cursory “We are sorry for the inconvenience caused” yadda yadda yadda. I buy books – how difficult is it to setup a e-bookstore that sells just books and nothing else ?

CNN-IBM Forum read:blog for students

A random mail from the Pune BlogCamp list landed up talking about the CNN-IBN Forum for Students. CFS will be a platform for students to Write or Blog on any National or International issue that they feel strongly about. Blogs written by students will be displayed on our official website http://www.ibnlive.com. This platform aims at guiding students to understand how acceptable their views on various issues are by fellow citizens and readers, across the world. Comments will also be posted by senior journalists and celebrities.

Ideally, they could have just set up aggregation rather than asking people to have Yet Another Blog. But, along side the Citizen Journalist thing this is a good move, let’s see how it spins out.
